Do you want better control of your dog? Struggling with unwanted behaviours or need expert guidance to raise your puppy right?
I’m here to help!
1:1 Training Sessions
Private sessions focused on coaching you as your dog’s handler on how I would handle them through the issues you’re facing, towards any goals you may have, as well as on best practices for general handling, raising, and training.
Dog training is majorly about a transfer of energy, which considering our dogs are pack animals who typically look to us to lead, should come as no surprise that we are often the ones in need of training. Patterns of undesirable behaviours can develop in our dogs due to a wide variety of reasons and while they can not always be ‘fixed,’ the situation you and your dog are in can always be improved, For help with how to effectively raise, train, and handle your dog, please, get in touch!
Residential Training
Send your dog for an immersive 3 weeks+ of training while living with me in my home, where I’ll lay foundations for you to then continue building upon.
Service coming soon. Please, reach out for more info.
Day Training
Have your dog spend a day of structured exposure and training with me and other dogs through a variety of environments and situations. Starting first thing in the morning until mid-afternoon.

Client reviews
“We contacted Jamie to help us with our crazy dog duo - Perun (Belgian Shepherd Malinois) and Chaos (Dutch Shepherd). From the first session, it was apparent that Jamie has a remarkable knowledge of these breeds, and their individual needs and drives.
He helped us understand the dynamics between the dogs and explained how to manage them at home and during walks.
During our sessions with Jamie, we focus on obedience and protection work as an outlet for dogs’ drives. Jamie has demonstrated great proficiency in teaching the dogs how to channel their energy and instincts appropriately, ensuring that they are happy and fulfilled.
We can see amazing progress in our dogs’ behaviour, they are more focused, responsive, and well-mannered, both at home and in public. Furthermore, under Jamie’s guidance, we became better and more confident handlers for our dogs.
Jamie is very patient and professional, always taking the time to answer our questions and address any concerns. His dedication is evident in the fantastic progress our dogs have made.
If you’re seeking an exceptional dog trainer who combines skill, patience, and professionalism, look no further. Jamie is an absolute treasure, and we can’t recommend them highly enough.”
“Jamie is a brilliant dog trainer, he is incredibly knowledgeable and imparts his knowledge practically. I dreaded walking my German Shepherd due to her reactiveness. Jamie gave us an in-depth understanding of the the behavior and how to best manage it. I now enjoy walks with my dog. If you want to see great results you need to listen to Jamie and put all his advice into practice …I am surprised at how much we’ve achieved in a very short time span.”
“Had a fantastic session with Jamie for our two Rottweilers (Cooper 19months and Hettie 6months). A very down to earth afternoon packed full of knowledge and expertise. We’ve come away with a newfound understanding and appreciation for our dogs and we are excited to implement all that we have learned. Highly recommend to anyone looking to build a solid relationship with their dog and take their training to the next level. Thank you so much, Jamie ”
“I contacted Jamie to help me with Rai, a 3 year old rescue from Spain. Rai was bred to hunt, which meant that walking him on The Heath was a real trial & I was starting to think that I might have to re home him. However, after working Jamie I can now see light at the end of the tunnel. Jamie is calm, straightforward and extremely knowledgeable about dog behaviour. He took the time to listen to my concerns and understand Rai and has helped me to understand what motivates/drives Rai. Importantly, Jamie has given me techniques and tools that work with Rai’s instincts, rather than fight against them. We’ve still got work to do but I’m confident that if I keep doing what Jamie tells me Rai & I are going to have a very happy life together. I’m so pleased I found Jamie and highly recommended him as an owner coach”
“My partner and I took our ten month old Dobermann for a session with Jamie yesterday, and we were blown away. His attention to detail and the minute aspects of our dog’s body language, not to mention our own, absolutely blew me away. I could have listened to him talk for the entire day, quite happily. We’ve come away with a renewed understanding of how we as owners and trainers shape the happiness, obedience and well being of our dog. Honestly could not recommend more.”
“Jamie is an absolute Gentleman. He’s calm, knowledgable and has made such a positive difference to our 9 month old GSD. He told us at the start that he was an ‘owner coach’ an he was spot on. Invariably we needed coaching and guidance, which he was able to give every step of the way and even when he’s not training with us, he’s accessible for advice and updates. We cant wait to work with him in the future as ‘Nala’ develops and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. Top service, Top advice, Top bloke”
“Jamie began working with us to help control our two excitable German Shepherds and tackle their prey drive and aggression toward the other animals on our farm. Unlike the many other trainers we had tried, he had the dogs and animals living in harmony in a short space of time - our dogs were finally listening!
He now sees our dogs routinely though the week and is taking them through advanced obedience and protection training. He’s a hardworking, trustworthy and reliable young man who we can see loves our dogs and they love him!”
“Jamie is an excellent dog trainer – or dog whisperer, as me and my husband call him. I phoned him for help with our 7-month old working line German Shepherd puppy, who’d been anxious and territorial around other dogs, trying to attack them; he also attacked a couple of people. We contacted Jamie after a distressing session with another trainer, who told us that our puppy was very aggressive and ‘needed to be broken.’ We wanted to work with our dog, not ‘break him’, and we desperately needed help.
We’re thrilled we’ve found Jamie. He was wonderful with our GSD. Knowing about his issues, he met us with another calm German Shepherd in a busy park, where we saw lots of other dogs and dog walkers. He showed us exactly how to handle our puppy, how to give him direction and how to praise him. Our puppy was following Jamie’s calm lead confidently and matched Jamie’s calm demeanour with his. Jamie is open, modest, professional and knowledgeable, and most of all, he deeply cares about dogs. He’s shown us what our dog is capable of when led well and how we can communicate with him on his level. He’s left us with lots of valuable advice and continued support. We couldn’t be more grateful and honestly can’t recommend him enough.”
“We have a 6-month-old working line German Shepherd, her training has been going well but we felt we wanted someone experienced to help guide us through a few bits. Jamie was absolutely wonderful! Not only is he extremely knowledgeable and informative but we felt that after just one 2 hour session we were left with all the tools we needed to support our puppy in her ongoing development. Jamie is extremely forthcoming with information, easily contactable and a very calm and friendly person. We would highly recommend him and will definitely be coming to him again should we need any further help. Thanks so much!!”
“Jamie’s insight into working dogs and German Shepherds, in particular, is phenomenal. With one 2 hour session, myself and my partner gained so much confidence and got such a fantastic response from our dog Scout. His advice on equipment and handling was second to none and it feels like I really understand our dog now and she understands me. I can’t recommend Jamie enough - he’s a proper dog whisperer! :)”
“We contacted Jamie about our almost 2 year old Giant Schnauzer, Axel, following a recommendation from a friend. We had a couple of issues to iron out, namely Axel’s recall. Jamie was brilliant. He understood the breed (which is something hard to come by with trainers - giant schnauzers are unique!) and gave us tailored advice. He is an incredibly knowledgeable trainer with a great wealth of evidence-backed advice. He is down-to-earth, friendly, and calm. No question was left unanswered. In just over 2 hours, we learned so much. Jamie has equipped us with the right tools and knowledge to move forward with Axel. He has regularly checked in with us following our session. We can’t thank Jamie enough!”
“Wow! Jamie is a dog whisperer.
We spent 2 hours with him working on some not desirable behaviour our puppy has been exhibiting. By the end of the session there were already improvements and 5 days later, sticking to his plan, she is improving all the time.
His methods are simple but work and he checks in to see all is good a few days later.
He really cares about your dog. And if anything arose after our session (it didn’t) I know we could call on him for advice.
Jamie brings with him knowledge, good energy, and a sense of humour. He was great with our kids who wanted in on the training and patient with the adults too!
Most importantly he’s taught us how to be a better leader to our dog and how to help our dog become the best she can.
I can’t wait to work with him again on some tricks with pup.”
“Jamie was brilliant from the initial inquiry right up until now. We have spent thousands on dog trainers previously for our 1-year-old female GSD, which has all ended in us not returning due to them not listening to the issues. Jamie was the first trainer that came to our home and saw how she is in her own environment and was very quick to establish what the problems were and how to fix them - she was a different dog in 2 hours. Now 2 weeks on nearly we can walk her on the lead and she is hardly barking at other dogs or people, I don’t know what magic he’s done but it’s 100 % worked for us. His follow-ups and checkups post-training session are really helpful and have meant a lot. Jamie does truly care about your dog and you. Million percent recommend, don’t even hesitate. Thank you again, Jamie!”
“Simply put, Jamie has been an incredible source of knowledge and guidance since we got our GSD pup. His approach is fantastic and he has taught us a lot very early on about how to best raise our pup, with a strong focus on what we as owners should do. He has a great approach which focuses on long-term success and creating a confident pup with no behavioural issues. Jamie has been on hand in person and on the phone and checks in with us regularly. He has a genuine interest in the welfare of or pup that goes beyond what normal coaches/trainers have, and that is what sets him apart. I have no hesitation in recommending Jamie for genuine advice and a wealth of knowledge on dogs”

About Me
Jamie Harkin
I work with dogs and their owners to develop an understanding and achieve cooperation between the two, in the pursuit of giving dogs as much freedom and opportunity for fulfillment as possible.
There was always at least one German Shepherd in my home while growing up and I became obsessed with training them in my teens. I began helping people with their dogs as a side hustle in 2014, until committing to working with dogs full-time in early 2019, and haven’t looked back since. Shepherds are still my bread and butter and make up the bulk of the dogs I work with, but my experience ranges from large working breeds down to dogs like my Frenchie and everything in between.
I take a relationship-based approach to training, using motivation and reinforcement to teach behaviours with a balance of corrections where necessary to generalise and proof them.
MY PROMISE
You can be assured you and your dog will receive nothing but good energy and intention from me. While we can only expect to see a dog make incremental progress in any given session, the deepening of your understanding and shift in perspective will change the direction you and your dog are heading in together.
